Charr Farming, in Pre`searing.

Post by Dave on Thu May 02, 2013 6:13 am

Hey guys, I noticed a great way of farming the Charr in Pre`...

I have 2 accounts, one has a level 20 Monk, and the other has a level 19 Monk with Ranger as it`s 2nd profession, with imp.

So, I open the door with the Level 20 Monk and leave her there, Now with the Level 19 Monk/Ranger and Imp, I go on a "Boss run" once I have dispatched the Bosses, I run out of the door with my level 20... (keeping an eye open for Red Iris Flowers) Yes, I can actually Solo the Charr with my Level 19 monk/ranger and imp. Wink

The thing I noticed is; I keep my 8% Moral boost, If I then go re-open the door with my level 20, and go back in with my Level 19 character.
I keep that boost, Until I kill the bosses again... I then gain a 10% Moral boost. which I keep if I repeat that, until I get bored................. Wink

You may already know this, but hey; No one told me about it! Razz I just thought I`d share this info` with you

I find it hard to understand.
How can you play both of your chars? If you switch accounts, the previous one is forced to disconnect.

Haa... You have to use a tiny program called Guild wars Multi-launch.

I want to share this project with the community. An open source (GPLv3 license) program to make opening multiple copies of Guild Wars simpler. There is also support for multiple Texmodded Guild Wars and experimental support for opening multiple Guild Wars of the same copy. (no need to make extra copies for quick mule sessions)

The instructions are in the readme.txt file distributed with the binaries. It does not make any changes to any Guild Wars files, so you don't have to worry about updates breaking it or you breaking the TOS.

Requirements:

Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 (server editions may also work)
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0+

Update - 2010/04/11:
v0.6 (2010/04/11)
* Fixed "-character" switch argument passing for shortcuts
* Shortcuts to launch individual copies may need to be remade to be compatible with new version
* Allows storing multiple profiles of same path
* Enables associating different arguments with same copy
* Added arguments wizard
* New art for buttons (less intense colors)

External hot keys notes
If you have using Vista/7, due to increased security policies of Windows, it is necessary to run the program that will be catching "key presses/clicks" at the same or greater privilege level as gw/gwmultilaunch. This means that if gw/gwmultilaunch is ran as admin, programs such as teamspeak or vent will also need to be ran as admin for it to be able to intercept hotkeys.

Vista/7 notes:
short version: Run the launcher as admin if the second guild wars window does not show up.
long version: See readme.

GWx2 notes:
If you have previously used GWx2 before, you may need to retrieve a fresh untainted gw.exe. Easiest way to do this is download the gw client from arenanet and start the installation. You only need to let it to download the first parts (you only need gw.exe). When it starts to really download lots of files, stop it. Move/copy over the gw.dat file from the original folder overwriting the much smaller gw.dat file in the new folder.

Download v0.6 - 32bit

And it wan't cause any errors while attempting to login into the same account?
Like, it won't say "This account is already logged in"?

You have to have two (2) accounts... you can`t use one account, sadly. Sad

There's a program called "Sandboxie", I usually use it for games where I need to open a window twice.

You can try it, but I think you need 2 accounts for Guild wars, and guild wars multi launch... Please, will you post here... If you get it to work?

Yes 2 accounts are still needed. I think SandBoxie is just a little bit more friendly program since it doesn't masses up with your game files.

I didn't try it on GW, but I did try it on other games.
